Hawks win 2-1 in OT shootout

LEWIS CENTER, OH - Now that was a hell of a hockey game. The Arrowhawks and Bombers stood toe to toe for 36 minutes. At the end of regulation it was notched at 1 a piece. Both goalies were fantastic. Tom Morgan scored in the final 5 minutes of the third to send the game to extra frames. Overtime was tilted in the Hawks favor, but no goals were scored. The shootout went 6 deep before a goal was scored. Mark McFarland, a sub from the Check Republic, burried the puck after a stellar deke, sending all the thirsty players on thief way.

Jason Jensen stoned each of the Bombers shooters in the shootout. To say his effort was impressive would be an understatement.

"Jay was awesome all game," said Mike Gauthier from his swanky Florida estate. Gooch is vacationing there this week after declaring himself out of weekly practices with an upper body injury. "I was hoping to be called on for the shootout but we won and that's all that matters."

McFarland was a force in both zones. His hustle and puck control made a difference on the night. Nick Lanctot also played a very good game, carrying the puck and setting up shooters all night.
