Hawks in Danger Zone, lose to Bombers 5-2
ARENA DISTRICT, OH - The Bombers and Arrowhawks fought tooth and nail through two and a half periods Friday. Unfortunately for the Hawks the final 6:00 minutes of the third period didn't go as planned. Once again the Arrowhawks found themselves short-handed many times during the game.
"The refs love to call penalties on us when we are in our black unis," said Chris Carpenter, Arrowhawk forward/defenseman. "Either that or we like to take as many uninterrupted breaks as we can during the games." he added.
The game was much closer than the final score indicated. The Bombers led by 1 until #4 Kevin Ellis notched his second goal on the night to make the score 4-2. The Bombers added an empty net goal with :03 seconds remaining.
"Give the Bombers credit," said defenseman Nick Lanctot. "They played physical and won their fair share of one-on-one battles."
"We'll be ready for them next time," said forward Kevin Griffith, who scored and assisted on another goal.

Gosh - if Joe Factor and Jeff Wingman Augestein were at the game along with yours truly I think the Hawks could have pulled some flashy 3rd period tape to tape plays and won this one for Rick Titus! Dave C
