I realized over the weekend that I'm not nearly as smart as I sometimes think I am. I'll give you two examples. 1) On a whim, I took the kids to, of all places, the Humane Society to 'look at' a Shitzu. It's a bright, sunny Easter weekend and the philanthropic spirit is running high. And my stupid ass takes the kids to the pound. Two days later, I've got a mangy mutt doing his business all over the house. Yeah, I'm freakin' brilliant. 2) I didn't realize the Jackets did a jersey giveaway at the end of each season. Arrowhawk Nate Mensel took part after Saturday's home finale against the Islanders, netting Colton Gilles' sweater. The photo almost screams for a caption contest.
