Personnel moves paying dividends

Winter session GM Tom Morgan's decision to switch Nick Lanctot to defense has paid huge dividends for the Arrowhawks. Goals against is down a full point from last session.

"If we could only keep him out of the penalty box, then we'd really have something," said Morgan via text message.

Lanctot plays physical, up-tempo hockey. His game is similar to when he plays bubble hockey -- he spins his players sticks so fast the puck just flies around the inside of the bubble all game (he likes to sing You Spin Me Right Round Baby Right Round while he plays), causing opponents to get frustrated and walk away -- only on the real ice, the other team usually gets mad and retaliates. As you'd guess, special teams play is up as well this session.

"We average about 10 minutes of penalties a night," said Lanctot. "I usually have 8 of those."

"Nick's a good dude but he needs some yoga or something to release his tensions before he takes the ice," said Chris 'Jesus was a' Carpenter.
