Hawks drubbed in session finale

DUBLIN, OH - The Arrowhawks quest for the top seed in the playoffs hit a major bump Friday. The Eskimos, a nemesis for the Hawks in the past 3 sessions, drilled the Hawks 7-2 in the first game of their doubleheader.

It was clear early the puck wasn't bouncing the Arrowhawks way. Hawks netminder Andrew Applehans saw more shots than he cared to early. He stood tall, as he has all season, but the assault was on.

"The difference on the night was their ability to finish," said sub Oleg Chetverikov. "We skated with them for the most part, but they made the passes they needed to and finished their chances." he added.

Nick Lanctot potted the two Arrowhawk goals on beautiful individual efforts. "I got lucky," the humble defenseman said after the game.

Joe Factor and Mark Monahan played very well in the loss, carrying the play and setting up many chances. But the Eskimos defense was solid in the win, not giving up second chances in front.

Final seeding will depend on the results of the night. Stay tuned Hawk fans, the playoffs are at hand.
