Gahanna - OH, Andrew Applehans, one of the younger Arrowhawks on the team, was recently photographed while on vacation in Guam. Ordinarily vacation photos aren't newsworthy, but in this case, Andrew might have some explaining to do to his teammates.
"I'm not sure what I'm most surprised about," said a now sunburned Mark Monahan. "The fact that Andrew has a family, he lost so much weight or that he has such skills on the sewing machine." he added.
"Dude, what the f?" said a more direct Mike Gauthier. "Where the hell does a person get material like that anyway? I've got to have a talk with Andrew about this."
The reaction was similar with all the Hawks when they viewed the image after Friday's practice. "This is exactly what we need after a hard practice like we had today," said Bryan Griffith. "I don't know what is funniest, the matching outfits or his shades. I could see Mac pulling something like that off, but not Andrew."
Nate Mensel had some advice for young players. "Let this be a lesson to all you young hockey players out there. Uniforms are great for military and sporting events, but not so much for vacations."
Calls to Applehans were not returned.
