All about Whiruttu

BW3s, POLARIS - Two beers, one sandwich. The Arrowhawks beat reporter is scouting tonight's Blue Jackets game and thinking about the Hawks upcoming game against the new team in the division, Riruhhto. As of tonight the Arrowhawks are 1-3 and share a seat in the division basement. The last time the Hawks were in last place "Hey Ya!" from Outkast was the #1 song. It was 2004.

Since then the Hawks have rattled off four divisions titles and a run of 8 straight championship games and 10 of 12. "Lot's of bad music in that run," said leading point scorer Tom Morgan, #5 for the Hawks.

But that's history. A loss against Rhirruto and the Hawks will drop to 1-4 with the powerhouse Eskimos and Maple Leafs next on the schedule. Pressure is on, folks.

"Unless you are talking about water or that David Bowie song with Freddy Mercury, I don't like pressure," admitted Mac 'I've given up drinking for the week" Lawless. "They pull that at work and I walk out sometimes. I usually head to the bar but this week I've been going to the indoor golf range -- trying to prepare for the offseason so I can spend all my game checks. My putting still sucks," he added with a frown.

ALL ABOUT RHIRRUTO
So where did Rhirrutto get it's name? We posed the question to Tim, the team's captain.

"Yea, we were drinking after a roller game and wanted to have a dumb name. Ours comes from Billy Madison. The part where Billy can’t write the word Rizzuto, because he doesn’t know cursive Z. Our team is mostly people who want to screw around and drink after the game, so it fits."

Fits indeed. Fits the Arrowhawks motto, that's for sure. Although we hope the Hawks are able to get back in the W column, we hope Rizzutto do well in the league.

The Hawks will be wearing their new red sweaters.

"We're undefeated in the new duds," said defenseman Mike Gauthier. "So yeah, I'm glad we're wearing them."
