Dynasty!

The Columbus Arrowhawks concluded the Winter Season with a 14-1 record and their 3rd championship in the last 4 seasons including their 4th overall. This season saw several highlights including the club leading the league in both goals scored (62) and goals against (28). Leading the way was Jason Jensen and his league best 1.90 GAA, he also recorded 2 shutouts and added 4 PIM's which earned him his 2nd straight team MVP. On the offensive side Kevin Griffith led the way with 11 goals and 13 assists and the Westerville Connection accounted for 53 points, Bryce Griffith (16 pts & 3 GWG's) and Nate Mensel (13 pts) stood out as line 1a set the tone throughout the season. Line 1b led the way with 55 points as team captain Mark Monahan posted 22 points including a team high 3 power play goals, Tom Morgan (4 GWG's) recorded his 3rd straight 20 point season with 10 goals and 10 assists and Jason Torsok recorded 13 points including a huge OT winner against the Eskimos in week 9. Oleg Chetverikov (9 pts), Nick Elswick (7 pts) and John Kenyon (3 pts) formed a solid 3rd line scoring timely goals while shutting down their opponents. Other offensive highlights include Rick Titus, Joe Factor and Chris Carpenter who played a variety of roles and chipped in 2 pts each. On the defensive side of the puck Terry Walker led all defensmen with 2 goals and 4 assists while Barry Snow and Mac Lawless (14 PIM's & 1 PPG) each tallied 5 pts on the season. Not to be forgotten is Mike Gauthier who accounted for 2 pts while tying the team high of 14 PIM's and making several new friends among Chiller off-ice officials.

Since the Fall of 2006 the Arrowhawks have compiled a record of 93-22-1 that includes 4 championships and 7 total championship game appearances and while a number of regulars will be taking the summer off it's safe to say that the Arrowhawks dominance will continue for years to come...on a side note the team is lucky and thrilled to have Nick Elswick back this summer after a health scare this past season...welcome back Tron!
