Hawks advance 3-1

COLUMBUS, OH - The Arrowhawks and Maple Leafs opened the 2012 fall session playoffs at the Easton Chiller Friday before a less than capacity crowd of 10 people. Both teams skated with good energy but the Hawks quickly asserted their will and ultimately won the game 3-1. The Hawks rolled three lines of offense and two lines of D. Mac Lawless and Nick Lanctot manned the blueline with partners Mike Gauthier and Ted Bulwinkle. The defense was up to the task, shutting down talented Maple Leaf forwards Mark Waterstreet and Teddy Martin, two usual Arrowhawk killers. When they did get through, Jason Jensen turned away the shots.

Arrowhawk goals were scored by Terry Walker, Nick Lanctot (game winner) and Mark Monahan. Sean (BLUE) Wright arrived late to the game and skated well, despite nearly killing all the Hawks in the room after the game because he skated with bronchitis. Monahan handed out airborne pills after the game, so the Hawks could feel confident they wouldn't become ill. Time will tell if it worked. Kudos to Blue for gutting out another skilled performance with his fancy blue helmet and blue gloves.
